What are you choosing to invest in? Your job? Your family? Your home? Yourself? The investments we make tend to reflect the things we care about the most.
We invest in food to nourish our bodies and a home to shelter us. We invest in the hobbies we love and the jobs we take on. And of course there is so much more to investment than simply our finances. We invest our time, energy, love, and effort as well. We even invest in the words we speak.
We’ve all seen the Pinterest pins, the YouTube videos, and the online influencers encouraging us to speak affirmations and words of power. And yes, of course, our words ARE powerful! How we speak to ourselves and about ourselves is immensely important to creating a life that embodies our best and highest good. But talking to your reflection in the bathroom mirror can only go so far…
In Episode 116 of the Moon + Manifest podcast, we shatter the myth of an “abundance mindset” and replace it with the knowledge that abundance is a way of being.
To truly embody the magic of a prosperous life, we must work alongside our sensitivities, transform our perception, and heal our relationship with money!
This is more than affirmations and gratitude lists — though those can be extremely beneficial. When we unearth the root of how we as individuals connect to earning, spending, and pricing everyday necessities and pleasures, we can unpack the non-beneficial aspects of our relationship with money and begin to tap into the magic of making money.
Understanding how we view money, how we relate to money, and how we FEEL about money are key components to living a life of abundance.
Let’s invest some time today toward unpacking the stories we tell ourselves about money. How do these perceptions affect our ability to build the financial life we know we are worthy of? What can we do to open our minds and encourage ourselves to invest — money, time, energy, love, etc. — with intention?
Magic of Making Money
3 Stories to Release
Story #1: MONEY IS POWER
If we’ve decided that power is unsafe, unkind, dangerous, or greedy, and then attach the quality of “power” to money, is it any question that we may be unconsciously pushing money away? It’s true that money does hold power in our society. But power in any scenario can do either good or bad. It depends on who wields it. Let’s ask ourselves: What good can the power of money achieve? Money helps save natural habitats. Money buys a nice meal with a friend. Money offers scholarships to those who need them. Money allows us to enhance our lives here on earth. By tapping into the magic of making money and seeing money as a beneficial power rather than only a destructive power, we help align with it in a healthy way. Here are some great aid organizations where more of your money goes toward their missions and causes.Story #2: MONEY IS MATERIALISTIC
As Sensitive Souls, we can often feel like money is too materialistic. Money is something that brings our energy down in a way that feels negative, heavy, and unwanted.
Alongside this, even WANTING money is sometimes frowned upon as selfish, greedy behavior. Wanting to be paid appropriately or enjoying high quality items can be seen as a materialistic, “low vibration” personality. And this is simply not true!
Part of living our human experience is cherishing the “materialistic” side of life and identifying how we can better the world through these qualities. Let’s take this magic of making money aspect and infuse enoughness, quality, and kindness with our materialism, desires, and needs.
Story #3: MONEY CHANGES US
When we see others with more money than us behaving in unsavory ways, it’s all too easy to connect the dots and create the pattern of “Money makes people bad.” Time and time again we see characters in stories come into a ton of money and suddenly start making non-beneficial choices! Of course we don’t want that to happen to us!
What’s amazing is that money doesn’t actually change us. The magic of making money only serves to amplify who we already are.
Do you crave power and control right now and are broke? Then you’ll like crave the exact same thing when you start to earn and attract more money. Now is the time — the only time ever, really — to explore who you are be-ing and what aspect of you humanity you want to reinforce and strengthen.
If you don’t want to be that money bags jerk who’s cruel to others, then don’t be that way now and you’ll never have anything to worry about once you do make it rich, successful or whatever level of comfort and security you’re striving for.
CHOICE
These three stories we tell ourselves about money do NOTHING for our growth. So why are we hanging on to them?
Because they offered us protection in our past.
Our Central Nervous System does an amazing job at protecting us from overwhelm and harmful situations, but we eventually outgrow the responses our body has taught itself. These patterns about money have stopped serving us. The anxiety, stress, and uncertainty that arises in situations where money is the focus? It is holding us back.
In fact, it is keeping us from reaching our highest good.
I speak so much more about this in Episode 116 of the Moon + Manifest podcast, so if you’re curious about this topic and want to start transforming your relationship with money, then definitely save this post and listen to this episode!
